Using Gramblr
-
1
Download the Gramblr program. Gramblr is a free program for Windows and Mac that allows you to upload photos from your computer directly to your Instagram account. Run the Gramblr installer to install the program on your computer.
- If you are using Windows, the installer comes in a ZIP file, which will need to be extracted.
-
2
Prepare your images. Gramblr does not allow you to crop and edit your photo like the Instagram app does. This means that you will need to crop and resize your image so that it is a 650 X 650px square. See this guide for details on cropping and resizing images.
- Gramblr only supports JPG and Jpeg images. See this guide for details on converting your image files to one of these file types.
-
3
Run Gramblr. When you start Gramblr for the first time, you will be asked to log in with your Instagram account.
- Gramblr is not supported by Instagram, so there is no guarantee that your account information won't be recorded. That being said, many people do use Gramblr on a regular basis.
-
4
Upload a photo. Click the "Choose File" button in the center of the Gramblr window. This will let you browse your computer for images that you want to upload. Select the image that you cropped and resized to fit the Gramblr specifications. Click the "Upload" button once you've selected your image.
- If you choose an image that has not been resized, it will be squished into the square frame, distorting it.
-
5
Add a caption. On the next screen, you will be able to add a caption to your Instagram photo. Click "Save Caption" when you are satisfied with it. The image has now been uploaded to your Instagram account.
- Some users report issues with their account after posting photos with hashtags from Gramblr. Use caution when adding hashtags to your caption.
